Every semester we open our doors to students from all over the world. Although the year 2020 brought us a whole set of different challenges, we were still glad to support our international students in their desire to gain international experience. AljaĹž PlaninĹĄek, an exchange student from Slovenia, who’s studying the Global Business Programme at FH JOANNEUM this semester, talks about his experience of studying in Graz.

Having experienced much more than others in their whole life Ahmed Younes has found his place in Austria, is working and is passionately studying System Test Engineering.

Even with the amended COVID 19 measures of the federal government, which will come into force on Monday, 7 December, FH JOANNEUM will remain on the traffic light color RED, although there will be some relaxation in examinations and classroom teaching.

What makes online teaching effective? We have been asking ourselves this question not only since Covid-19 outbreak – in fact, we have been racking our brains over it at IIT for many years. Thanks to our part-time degree programmes „Mobile Software Development“ and „Software Design“ we are able to draw on previous experiences in online teaching. Nevertheless, every online unit is a challenge and we always find ourselves pondering on the following question: Does teaching English online make sense or not? Our answer is: YES and NO.
