Martin Payer was appointed Financial Managing Director of FH JOANNEUM in January 2018. He previously headed the Polymer Competence Center Leoben. In his position as Managing Director he was responsible for developing the company into Austria’s leading non-university research institution in polymer technology with over 100 staff.
Born in Graz, Martin Payer completed a Master’s degree in Environmental System Sciences / Business Administration with a focus on Innovation Management and Environmental and Resource Economics at the University of Graz.
Following his studies, shorter professional positions took him to Germany and the Karl-Franzens-University Graz. In 2003 he moved to the Polymer Competence Center Leoben. Martin Payer also completed an Executive MBA at the Danube University Krems from 2011 to 2013 and was a member of the Supervisory Boards of Lenzing AG and Semperit AG for over five years.
